Racing Excellence: The Thrilling Showcase of Special Saloons and Modsports at Silverstone

Fans of Special Saloons and Modsports at Silverstone National circuit were treated to an entertaining race, with winners Danny Morris and Simon Allaway showcasing their self-built cars. Allaway grabbed pole position but encountered engine issues, giving Morris the chance to take the lead alongside Ian Stapleton and Ross Irvine. The race saw Morris and Allaway battling for the lead until mechanical problems thwarted Morris’ efforts.

In the following race, Allaway and Morris quickly climbed the ranks again after encountering setbacks, with Pelling emerging victorious in the Modsports category. Swinging Sixties Group 1 race was dominated by Jon Wolfe and Stephen Pickering despite penalty setbacks. Dave Bye and Ben Walker secured a podium finish in their Jaguar XJ6, while Ian Staines and Shaun Haddrell battled fiercely in the tiddlers’ class.

In Group 2, Pickering maintained his lead, with Jon Crayston and Dean Halsey chasing closely behind. The Open Series race saw Dylan Popovic outperforming Bradley’s BMWs, while Archie Buttle impressed with a strong fourth-place finish. Stuart Daburn and Dave Griffin claimed victory in the Future Classics and Modern Classics races respectively, showcasing their skills on the track.
